Look And Feel Younger

A year of lockdown has many of us ready to focus on self-care and well-being. If you’re struggling with the signs of aging, take a good look at your skincare routine, your diet, and your consumption of anything that can add years to your skin. Managing stress can do a lot to prevent eye bags and wrinkles. It can help you look and feel younger too!

Boost Your Water Intake

Keep water front and center in your refrigerator. If you need to keep soda and juice boxes for your family, move them to a lower shelf and push them to the back.

Get quality stainless steel water bottles and fill them with fresh water each day. If possible, designate a door shelf just for yourself. In here, keep your filtered water, chilled green tea, and coconut or almond milk for a post-workout smoothie.

During the holidays, consider treating yourself to a soda machine and create your own flavored soda water. Add a squirt of lemon, lime, or orange juice to freshly created club soda in your own soda making tool and enjoy this when tempted by a cocktail during the week.

Add Tea To Your Routine

White, green, and black tea can all increase your antioxidant intake. If you can replace sugary soda with hot or iced tea, so much the better.

Make sure to focus on good dental care and consider adding brushing your teeth to your post-lunch routine to prevent staining.

Some people find tea to be too acidic on an empty stomach. If you get hungry or sleepy in the middle of the morning or the afternoon, pair tea with applesauce or yogurt. Yogurt will increase your calcium intake and unsweetened applesauce offers plenty of Vitamin C.

Treat yourself to a sun tea jar and brew up a jug on warm summer days so you have a crisp, cool treat when you come in from outdoors. If possible, find an herbal tea flavor to blend into your sun tea to cut down on sugar and artificial sweeteners.

Natural Skin Care Additions

Add aloe vera to your skincare kit and get in the habit of taking off your makeup as soon as you get home. Lightly, use your ring fingers to dab fresh aloe vera on wrinkle lines, around your mouth, and near your eyes.

Take care never to rub the juice into the eyes, and once you’ve applied it, don’t touch your face.

When you’re ready for a special treat, consider a microcurrent facial for a non-invasive skin-tightening round of self-care.

Properly applied and used sparingly, these treatments can help promote your self-confidence without going under the knife.

Hit The Pantry

Blend brown sugar and good olive oil in small batches just until the brown sugar is good and sticky. Use this as a body polish after your shower and scrub away the dead skin. Olive oil is also rich in antioxidants and has strong antibacterial properties.

While you’re applying this combination, take a tiny bit of olive oil alone and work it into the T zone, across your cheekbones and nose, and on your chin to fight clogged pores and soften skin. Rinse all this product away with warm water, and if you can, let your skin air dry.

Protect Your Sleep

Fight to keep your bedroom quiet, dark, and free of screens. For those who use their phone as their alarm clock, set it in the hall outside your door or far enough away that you have to get up to turn it off. Don’t lay in bed and use your phone.

If you like a bath before bed, consider switching to a sponge bath in the winter to avoid stripping your skin of natural oils, especially in the winter. Additionally, try to keep your bedtime bath a cool one.

Your core body temperature needs to drop for you to fall fully into the deepest level of sleep. It’s at this level that your brain is cleansed of toxins and your body heals. A hot bath before bed may feel relaxing, but it makes it harder to fall into a deep sleep.

Be ready to kick up a fuss if you need to make room for healthy choices in 2021. If that means commandeering space in the refrigerator, upping the family vegetable intake, or moving the television out of the bedroom, do it!

Once you put these tips into practise I am sure you will look and feel younger soon!
